Detectability

Metal detection is an industrial method used to detect unwanted metal contamination.  The most common type of detector head is a balanced coil, which is capable of detecting all types of metals including ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steels to varying degrees.

The second type is known as ferrous-in-foil and these heads are capable of detecting ferrous metals and magnetic stainless steels only, even when wrapped in aluminium foil.  SCOPIC utilises a Safeline twin head detector system incorporating both technologies.  The machine allows measurement and comparison of metal detectable compounds on industrial equipment as would be utilised in the food industry.
